What Did I Do - The Idea
The idea behind the project "What Did I Do?" is to bring light and give insight to injustices in the world and how its effect lingers in the minds of those it affects or who it could affect. I wanted this story to be told as someone.
Starting out, finding a direction was probably the hardest part of the entire process. To your right you can see all of my concepts, storyboards, and inspiration going into this Thesis Project. Listening to the song "Self Love" by Metro Boomin, I found my start going into this project. The message of the song is describing someone who is lost in thought and is self-wallowing because they're worried about all these outside variables that prevent them from loving themselves. "Self Love he don't love himself trying to love me", this was my personal Aha moment and when I began with my sketches. We were instructed for our thesis to have three deliverables for our subject matter, and I chose to have a:
- Poster
- Motion Graphic
- Stickers
The poster was my display piece for the Thesis Exhibit. The process started to flow, and I noticed after created my sketches I would need someone to be my model/focal point within the project. The model you see in the posters and motion graphic is Timi Saint. Timi has been an amazing help and taking time out to help me means a lot, as well as her support for what I was trying to accomplish. Met with her and we had a mini photo op and demoed some of the assets I planned on using for the motion graphic.
